What Our Families Say

Cremations

Cremations have become more popular in recent times. If cremation is preferred, we can arrange all the necessary details with the crematorium of your choice. Most crematoriums have a chapel that may be used for the service

Things you will need to think about

Burials

A burial is a traditional option and a personal preference. Occasionally a family may already have a plot reserved, but in most circumstances where a new plot is required, we can assist in making arrangements for you. We can advise you on suitable cemetery locations, including finding a burial plot or crypt to suit your every wish and budget.

Things you will need to think about

No Service, No Attendance

Also known as NSNA, this is where a direct cremation takes place with no family or friends in attendance.

Once the deceased is taken into our care, a cremation will be conducted and the ashes made available for collection at a later date.

A memorial service may be held at a later date.

Church / Chapel Options

Choosing the right venue for a funeral service can sometimes be a hard decision to make and fees will depend on the location you choose.

Chapels can be used for a variety of reasons and often have the ability to play funeral multimedia, stream services and record. Generally, Funeral Chapels are non-denominational meaning that anyone and everyone can use them.

If you are a member of your local Church, we encourage you to talk to the Parish Minister or Priest before we make contact with them.

Outdoor venues can be a special way to make a funeral service really unique. Consider favourite locations of the deceased such as the beach, a park, race track, football field etc

Alternative venues allow you to really personalise the way a funeral is conducted. Using venues such as function rooms/venues, or even your own property or backyard can certainly make a funeral service more memorable.

We will liaise with any chosen venue to ensure that your wishes can be accommodated.

The professional fee covers the management of the funeral service, including all legal and administrative requirements

Coffins and Caskets

The shape is the main point of difference between a coffin and casket. Coffins are often wider, with more room around the top, and taper in towards the bottom. The lid of a coffin lifts off. In contrast, caskets are rectangular, with no differences in width. Caskets generally have a split lid, which allows the upper half to be opened as needed for an open-casket viewing or during the funeral.

Basic coffins, made from plywood or medium-density fibreboard, generally come with a flat lid and plastic handles.Mid-range coffins, have slightly more detail and craftsmanship involved. They usually contain metal handles, a tiered lid, varnish finish and more detail in their construction.

Caskets are generally more expensive than coffins because they are usually lined with finer material and customisation. The double lid tops allow for easy viewing. Caskets can vary in the finish of wood or material used and contain greater detail in their exterior construction.

The choice between a coffin and a casket is a personal decision when planning a funeral. There are many options available, at varying price points, depending on what is most appropriate to farewell your loved one.

Coffins may be constructed from Cardboard, MDF, Timber, metal or whicker.

Standard size coffins and caskets range in price from $700.00 – $40,000.00 (Inc GST)

Floral Arrangements

Casket flowers are elegant flower arrangements designed to sit on top of the casket or coffin during the ceremony. Following a funeral, they can be buried/cremated, left on the gravesite, donated, or taken home.

During a service, a moment of reflection may occur to remember and honour the deceased. Single-stemmed flowers can be handed out to individual guests to place on the casket or coffin during this time.

Flower petals are commonly sprinkled at the burial, as a final tribute and farewell.

Taylor’d Funerals have partnered with local company, Fresh Creative Styling, to help you arrange beautiful floral tributes. We have a large range of floral arrangements to choose from, however Fresh Creative Styling is more than happy to work with you to create something unique.

Funeral Stationery

Memorial stationery is a beautiful way to celebrate a life, and provide keepsakes for loved ones.

Taylor’d Funerals have partnered with Dignified Memories to ensure that the worry is taken out of designing and ordering memorial cards, thank you cards, book marks and order of services. Dignified Memory products are all designed and printed in house and guaranteed to be delivered on time to the highest quality.

Their Order of Service booklets are carefully designed, scored and folded and act as a programme to help guide attendees through the service. They can also serve as a personal reminder and keepsake that can be taken home.

Memoriam Cards make a beautiful keepsake and reminder of your loved one for attendees of the service as well as those that couldn’t be present.

After a funeral, Thank You Cards offer a personalised note to those in attendance.

A Bookmark may be a touching tribute to their interests and passions of your loved one. Like memoriam and thank you cards, bookmarks can come with a photo of your loved one and peaceful images.
